Bartelings joins the World Tourism Association for Culture and Heritage (WTACH)
Bartelings is proud to announce that it has become a member of The World Tourism Association for Culture and Heritage (WTACH).
The expert team at WTACH has many years of combined experience at the most senior level of industry and academia. It is this knowledge they are putting to good use by supporting activities and development to protect and preserve the cultural assets of the world through training, advocacy and the promotion of responsible tourism practices.
Since its inception in 2015, UK-based Bartelings has been creating some of the world’s most intriguing high-end itineraries to showcase the incredible natural and man-made wonders of the world.
“We must accept that tourism has an impact not only on the environment but also on human kinds’ heritage and traditions, the very things we bring people to experience,” said Mr Gary Bartelings, Founder and CEO of Bartelings.
“It is our responsibility to ensure this is possible for generations to come. It is also our responsibility to protect those whose life is intricately linked to the preservation of their heritage,” he said. As a member of WTACH, Bartelings will increasingly encourage its clients to consider the opportunities for safeguarding and supporting cultural experiences and traditions.
On joining WTACH, Mr Bartelings said: “We have been searching for an organisation which will help us better understand and take responsibility for the impact we make on the world.
“Whereas the focus for many has been on the environmental impact of travel, WTACH, in our view, has broadened this scope.”
In welcoming Bartelings, Nigel Fell, WTACH President & CEO said “A warm welcome to Bartelings becoming our latest tourism business member to join the growing WTACH family. I would particularly like to thanks Gary Bartelings and his team for his on-going support and for recognising the important work we do to better educate and change the way cultural heritage tourism is developed, practiced and consumed.”
The team at WTACH looks forward to working more closely with Bartelings and supporting the whole Bartelings’ team to plan unique trips that maximise the opportunity for clients to enjoy authentic, informative and sustainable local experiences.
