A Taste of Italy
Invite your customers to join a unique experience in one of the most beautiful parts of Italy for a culinary delight bursting with flavour and culture. We have curated an ideal journey for travellers dreaming about heading to Italy but dreading crowds and run-of-the-mill tourist food; a journey to stimulate the senses and soak up the relaxed Italian ambience.
Abruzzo is in the centre of Italy, with its western border a mere 31 miles from Rome. Long considered part of southern Italy politically and culturally, it enjoys a central location that is bordered by the Adriatic Sea to the east, Le Marche to the north, Lazio to the west, and Molise to the south. It is an expansive territory of closely held traditions, vast natural splendour, picturesque towns, and miles of seashore. It is also a part of Italy renowned for its wine, extra virgin olive oil and truffles - 60% of all Italian truffles are found in Abruzzo.
A Taste of Italy by Private Jet
If your customers like food and wine this is a special opportunity not to be missed, where guests eat, drink and explore alongside the locals while seeing breath-taking sights. Our private jet will fly a group of 10 directly to Pescara on the Adriatic coast, our base for exploring and diving into the depths of Italian cuisine in this fascinating part of Italy.
Arrival | Day 1
Upon arrival mid-afternoon we travel to our centrally located hotel. Guests will spend their first evening at a private house enjoying a hearty home cooked meal of authentic Abruzzo cuisine especially prepared by Nonna Vincenzo and family.
Pescara | Day 2
We visit an organic cheese farm where guests will learn the ancient art of producing cheese. Lunch will be a decadent tasting of local cheeses including ones made by the guests themselves. In the afternoon guests have the freedom to explore the city, coast and beaches of Pescara.
Pescara | Day 3
Today we sail the Adriatic on our private yacht. We will head for Tremiti Island, one of the most picturesque in Italy, enjoying a seafood lunch on-board and guests can enjoy the crystal clear waters from our floating home.
Pescara | Day 4
First stop is the famous market of Sulmona where guests have the chance to sample the flavourful and fresh produce from the region, including cheese and truffles. From there we head to a family-owned winery, Zaccagnini for an intimate wine tasting and tour and learn more about the historic region.
Pescara | Day 5
After a free morning we will travel to the city of Ortona where we will visit the beautiful Castello Aragonese, a medieval castle which stands on a volcanic rocky islet at the northern end of the Gulf of Naples. This evening guests will enjoy an exclusive sumptuous seafood dinner (with ingredients caught the same day) in the most unforgettable setting of a fisherman’s hut overlooking the Trabocchi Coast.
Calascio | Day 6
The day begins with an escorted tour to Santo Stefano di Sessanio, one of the most striking and closely preserved villages in central Italy. Late afternoon, guests venture to Rocca Calascio, a castle dating back to the year 1000 that has been selected as one of the top 10 most beautiful by National Geographic. At the top of the castle, guests will be greeted by an amazing view across the region. The evening is brought to a relaxing end with a light dinner and fragrant wine, whilst enjoying an exclusive live opera performance.
Calascio | Day 7
A visit to one of Italy’s top caves, Grotte di Stiffe, in a beautiful part of the Abruzzo region will provide for a unique and magical tour navigating into the 700m deep caverns. Afterward we engross ourselves in a world of truffles. Guests will arrive at a restaurant specialising in truffles for a gourmet meal that will take us on an exquisite journey from savoury to sweet. For the last night of our Abruzzo tour, guests will savour a dinner of famous arrosticini and other Abruzzese local specialities, accompanied of course by wine!
Departure | Day 8
After stopping at renowned Pastry shop “Pasticceria Merlini” to delight in the age-old sweet, “Pizza Dolce”, guests are invited to feast at the table with a local family, in the town where their great grandparents were from. Lunch includes enticing wood-fired handmade porchetta, homegrown tomatoes, pappardelle with cinghiale ragu and local antipasti.
